My wonderful friend Lady Bee recently invited me to accompany her for a couple of days on a trip to assist with the installation of an art piece called the Tasseograph on a fabulously beautiful ranch near Nicasio, California.

Shortly after we'd arrived and had a quick look around the ranch, we found ourselves paintbrushes in hand, applying a thick coat of polyurethane to the Tasseograph to help protect the it from the elements.

The full name of the piece is the Tasseograph Trash Tea Temple seeing as how it is comprised entirely of materials retried from the rubbish heap. In my mind it achieves that rare combination of whimsy and beauty.

The owners of the ranch are both artists and have a good bit of fascinating salvage laying about the grounds around the shop. Lady Bee and I thoroughly enjoyed poking around to see what we could find.

Among the myriad animals on the ranch are two ultra-friendly labradoodles. This is Jim and he loves to chase a rolling bowling ball, knipping at it's round heels, barking and trying to pick the thing up in his mouth.
