In preparing for our visit to the ice carving contest later in the week, Bruce and I did some R & D on the back patio, seeing if we could burn fuel on ice.

We weren't able to produce any kind of reliable results with the small blocks of ice we had on hand, but it was still fascinating to me to try a bunch of different fuels and observe the different properties of each one.

And of course the whole exercise dissolved into playing with methanol after a bit. I never tire of it.
