To celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, Mark and I went to the beautiful Mayfield Park in Austin for a lovely picnic. Mayfield is famous for its flock of peacocks and the males were in fine form for our visit.

One of the males was very shy and did his best to keep me behind him.

I didn't let that stop me, though.

Mark surprised me with a luscious spread of items he had picked out. We've always loved eating al fresco like this and it was a wonderful way to celebrate our marriage.

The other reason I wanted to go to Mayfield for our picnic (besides the peacocks, of course) was that this was the time of year for the wonderful little purple flowers called Chinese ground orchids, and Mayfield usually has spectacularly good displays.
